Miles McKinnes's debut landed at a time when rock critics were decrying the death of dance. This album put a metaphorical sock in their gobs. But to just say that about it is to do it a disservice. With this album Mylo injected fun and energy into house music; combining pop sensibilities with punchy beats, catchy riffs and electro stylings. Coming seemingly out of nowhere Mylo made an album that was, he says "a bedroom album that went way out of control". Catapulting floor-bombs like 'Drop The Pressure' at us and all we could do was listen to this LP and dance and yelp in response. Instant gratification isn't all Mylo's about though. 'Destroy Rock & Roll' showed brains behind the brawn and since then album tracks like 'Doctor Pressure' have added a cheeky grin to his production persona too.

Mylo is the brainchild of Skye native Myles MacInnes. Mylo has produced a refreshing and at times startling debut in the form of 'Destroy Rock And Roll'. Sophisticated electro stabs, classy breaks and fat-bottomed bass lines characterise his rich, varied and well-balanced sound. Influenced by artists such as Prince ('Guilty of Love'), Daft Punk ('Ottos Journey') and even Scissor Sisters ('Musclecar Reform Reprise'), this album includes the high-octane guitar title-track single 'Destroy Rock And Roll'.
- Q - "A corking debut."
'Destroy Rock 'n' Roll' is the debut album from former Isle of Skye resident Myles MacInnes. A mix of twisted house, electroclash and chilled vibes, the album has drawn comparisons to the work of Daft Punk, Groove Armada and Royksopp. This edition also includes a Mylo reworking of the underground bootleg hit 'Doctor Pressure', a mashup of 'Destroy Rock 'n' Roll' and 'Doctor Beat' by Miami Sound Machine.
Scottish musical postmodernist Mylo raided every aspect of retro pop music, from the sublime to the ridiculous, in manufacturing his sonic brew. Drawn from a wildly diverse set of influences, ranging from disco to 1980s soft rock, Mylo's style happily broke free from dance-music conventions. His full-length debut, 2003's DESTROY ROCK 'N' ROLL, utilised everything from strict club beats to REO Speedwagon and Kim Carnes samples.
