Excellent value Vins de Pays ... Domaine la Begude is a small family property in Gigondas, one of the Crus of the southern Rhone and an excellent alternative to pricier Chateauneuf-du-Pape. Here they use classic southern French grapes including Cinsault, Carignan and spicy Syrah from vineyards bordering 300-year-old, award-winning Chateau de la Begude to make a deliciously rich, concentrated red. Powerful, but medium bodied, with well integrated tannins.
